Henry Deringer U.S. Contract Model 1814 Percussion Conversion Rifle Only 2,000 Model 1814 flintlock rifles were manufactured by Henry Deringer's shop in Philadelphia before production transitioned over to the very similar Model 1819 "Common Rifle." These rifles are among the earliest standardized U.S. military rifles and follow the Model 1803. It has a blade front sight on a low stud base, notch rear sight, "H. DERINGER" on top at the breech, U.S. proofs, "TA" carved twice into the left side of the butt, "US/H. DERINGER/PHILAD" on the lock, and has been converted to percussion using a bolster. It likely saw use in multiple conflicts possibly including the Civil War.
