North Africa, Algeria & Morocco, Sahara, Late Paleolithic to Mesolithic Period, ca. 24,000 to 6,000 years ago. This collection includes 42 knapped stone tools crafted from flint (chert) and quartzite, showcasing the skill and resourcefulness of early humans in the Saharan region. These tools, likely used for tasks such as hunting, cutting, and processing materials, represent the transition from larger Paleolithic implements to the smaller, more refined microliths typical of the Mesolithic. Found across North Africa's prehistoric landscape, they reflect adaptations to changing environments during and after the last Ice Age. Size of largest: 2.5" L x 0.8" W (6.4 cm x 2 cm).
