Late 19th to early 20th century Gorham Manufacturing Company chatelaine purse frame and coordinating belt clip in sterling silver. The set is decorated in the Rococo Revival style with intricate relief scenes of cherubs or putti amidst scrolls, acanthus leaves, and shell motifs. The arched frame features two hinged sections joined by a kiss-lock clasp with ball finials. Two lengths of silver link chain connect the frame to a shaped belt hook with matching scrollwork. Marked on the reverse of the belt clip with Gorham hallmarks including the lion passant, anchor, and Gothic letter G, STERLING, pattern number 139, and a quatrefoil mark. Tested on Thermo-scientific measuring device.
