Desirable World War II German/Nazi MG-34 Fully Automatic Class III/NFA "Sales Sample" Medium Machine Gun This is a solid representative example of a WWII German MG-34 medium machine gun as used throughout WWII by all German forces. These were developed prior to WWII by Rheinmetall-Borsig company and were excellent and very reliable machine guns. They were manufactured with all machined parts that were, in many cases, hand fitted with exacting tolerances, that proved to be too time consuming and costly to produce, so they were eventually replaced with the later easier to manufacture, stamped and machined MG-42. This example was manufactured in 1943 by the Brno factory in Czechoslovakia with the top of the barrel jacket marked "dot/1943/5332b", with serial number "273" on the top cover. The top rear flat of the receiver is stamped with a small "WaA63/5332b" indicating it was proofed and accepted by the Mauser factory. The top of the bolt is numbered "535m". Although this weapon has some mismatched numbers, this is fairly common in these early use weapons as many of the guns' parts were cannibalized for use on other weapons during heavy use, and many parts were also discarded before the guns were captured later in the war. This fine example is complete with the original sights and bipod. Manufacturer: German Model: MG-34 BBL: 24 inch Stock: Gauge: 7.92 mm Mauser Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 5332b Class: Class III Condition: Very good with 50% of the faded blue still remaining overall mostly in the protected areas of the receiver. The stock and pistol grip plates are in very good original condition showing light scratches and handling marks. NOTE: This weapon is a restricted, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. This weapon is currently registered as being "LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE (Pre-86)" and as such can only be purchased by an FFL, with a Class 2 or Class 3 SOT License.
