artist Otmar Alt (Germany, born 1940), this large framed piece was designed in 1972 for the Munich Olympic Games, depicts vibrantly colored people in a Pop Art or Surrealistic style, cool retro late Mid Century Modern piece

  • Dimensions: 25 1/4" wide by 34 1/4" tall
  • Notes: Most often depicting animals and people, Alt's work is influenced by artists like Joan Miró and Paul Klee, both in his interest in children's art and his pictorial sense of humor. Born on July 17, 1940 in Wernigerode, Germany, Alt went on to study at the Berlin University of the Arts under the sculptor Karl Hartung. He later worked as a set designer for many years in Berlin, a career which shaped his development as an artist who paints three-dimensional objects. Alt's work is in the collections of the Indianapolis Museum of Art, the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art in Norman, OK, and the Deutsches Freimaurermuseum in Bayreuth', among others. He lives and works in Hamm, Germany.
  • Condition: after the store's move the glass broke, needs new glass in the frame (ask if you want just the print shipped)
