GEORGIAN ENGLISH AND OTHER STERLING SILVER FLATWARE, LOT OF 25, including a meat fork probably by Sydenham William Peppin of London with 1817 date mark, two tablespoons of one by George Gray of London with 1794 date mark and one by George Smith III & William Fearn with 1795 date mark, a pair of place forks possibly by John Lias of London with 1809 date marks, three demitasse/small teaspoons with decorative bowl backs including an urn of flowers, a set of three shell-and-thread fiddle-handled place spoons by A.B. Savory & Sons of London with 1833 date marks, a teaspoon having rat tail-back bowl by an Irish maker with 1859 date mark, and a group of six place knives having hollow handles by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd. with 1905 and 1907 date marks. Each with marks including a maker's mark, a sterling fineness mark, a city mark, a date mark, and/or a duty mark. Total weight excluding six hollow-handled knives: 21.32 ozt. Together with a pair of teaspoons having "WC" mark and possibly an unascribed Scottish mark, and a pair of hollow-handled place knives with "I I" or "T I" marks and plated blades, possibly being English. 29 pieces total.

  • Circa: Late 18th, 19th, and early 20th century.
  • Condition: Fair to very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including bending, dents, nicks, worn spots to decoration, possible repairs, and/or worn bowl tips.

Shipping

We can ship most items with the exception of furniture and other large and/or heavy items.

Shipment of won lots to an address different from that on file may require verification, which can cause up to a 30-day delay in shipping.

Once a package is ready to ship it is weighed, measured and processed through the USPS and/or UPS system in order to determine cost of shipping including insurance and additional services (e.g. delivery confirmation) as applicable.

Our packing service is billed at a prorated fee of $18.00 per hour, with a $10.00 minimum. We use recycled materials whenever possible at no charge to the buyer. If we use purchased supplies such as boxes, etc., that cost is passed on to the buyer.

The actual cost of shipping/insurance and packing/materials cannot be determined until packing is completed. Once known, the shipping charges are applied to the buyer's invoice and he/she is notified of the cost by email (or by phone if we have no email).
