Flintlock American Long Rifle Likely built in the 1830s-1850s. The side plates are the same style used on multiple New England rifles. Similar patch box styles have been found on rifles attributed to Wolfgang Haga of Reading, Pennsylvania. Features a reversed blade front sight, notch rear sight, "J. COOPER" lock, and tension secured patch box door. Manufacturer: Unknown Model: Flintlock Rifle BBL: 37 1/2 inch octagon Stock: walnut Gauge: 45 Finish: brown Grips: Serial Number: NSN Class: Antique Condition: Very good as professionally reconverted to flintlock configuration with a mix of dark brown patina and applied brown finish on the iron, heavy corrosion at the breech, lighter pitting and oxidation elsewhere, aged patina on the brass, and minor marks and scratches. The wood is also very good with repairs above the nose of the lock and left side of the forend tip, some minor dents and hairline cracks, and general light scratches. Mechanically needs work: the lock is functional, but the trigger does not engage properly.
