A striking ruby red pressed art glass jardinière or cachepot, showcasing bold sculptural form and richly molded ornament characteristic of mid-century decorative glass production. Executed in a luminous, saturated ruby hue, the vessel features an elegantly scalloped rim above radiating fan panels embellished with raised beaded detailing. The body is further enriched with molded oval cartouches framed by scrollwork and circular bosses, creating an intricate interplay of light, texture, and depth. Supported by three gracefully scrolling feet, the jardinière possesses an architectural presence that is both decorative and functional. The deeply molded design produces exceptional brilliance when illuminated, while the substantial weight and vivid coloration exemplify the enduring appeal of quality pressed art glass. Pieces of this character were inspired by the revival of Victorian pressed glass designs and enjoyed renewed popularity during the mid-twentieth century, when richly colored decorative glass once again became fashionable for elegant interiors. The elaborate molded ornament recalls nineteenth-century American and European art glass traditions while offering the durability and visual impact of expertly executed pressed glass. Equally suited as a cachepot, centerpiece, floral vase, or standalone decorative object, this impressive ruby glass vessel offers vibrant color and sculptural elegance to both traditional and contemporary interiors. An attractive example for collectors of colored art glass, pressed glass, and mid-century decorative arts.

  • Literature: Comparable examples may be found in references covering twentieth-century American and European decorative pressed glass, including publications documenting the Victorian Revival movement and the resurgence of richly colored molded art glass produced during the mid-twentieth century.
  • Circa: Mid-20th century, circa 1950–1975.
  • Condition: Overall very good vintage condition. The glass presents well with vibrant ruby coloration and excellent clarity. Light surface wear to the underside and areas of expected age-related handling may be present. No obvious cracks, repairs, or significant chips were observed from the photographs. Please review all images carefully, as they form an integral part of the condition report.
