Classic and Very Fine Engraved Holland & Holland "Royal" Double Barrel Hand Detachable Side Lock Ejector Big Game Rifle The makers have kindly confirmed that this rifle was finished on December 23, 1931 for a Mr. Grenville. Blacked chopperlump barrels engraved with a band of foliage at each breech and respectively signed "HOLLAND & HOLLAND" and "98. NEW BOND STREET, LONDON." on the tubes. Concave rib engraved ".465 BORE" and fitted with a matted raised ramp mounted bead front sight with flip over moon sight. Matted raised quarter rib with rear sight of a single folding leaf graduated for 150 yards and with platinum inlaid center line. Casehardened treble grip unbolstered action with removable striker discs, engraved "ROYAL EJECTOR" on the underside, blued top lever, automatic safety with gold inlaid "SAFE", and folding aperture rear sight. Casehardened Joseph Brazier locks each with gold inlaid cocking indicator and signed "HOLLAND & HOLLAND". Casehardened trigger plate with double triggers, the front trigger stippled and articulated. Blued rolled edge trigger guard and casehardened pistolgrip cap with hinged trap cover, the trap containing a spare bead front sight element serial numbered to the rifle. Well figured 14 5/8 inch pistolgrip stock including 3/4 inch rubber recoil pad. The stock with raised cheekpiece, checkered grip and checkered fore-arm. The underside of the butt with vacant gold oval escutcheon. Two blued iron sling mounts and best quality "Royal" scroll engraving throughout. Weight: 10 lbs. 10 oz., London nitro proof marks for 75 grs Cordite and 480 grs bullet. Trigger guard retaining much original blued finish, some wear on edges, engraving clear. Upper tang fitted with the aperture sight at a later date.
