Excellent Documented Experimental Winchester Model 52C Target Rifle from the Winchester Factory Museum Collection Manufactured in 1950, this is an experimental example of a Winchester Model 52C target rifle that was once part of the Winchester Factory Museum collection. According to the included 1975 dated Winchester-Western letter, this rifle is listed as one of "several guns…which were recently part of the Winchester Gun Museum collection at the factory in New Haven, Connecticut." This rifle was sold when the museum was moved to the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming. This rifle is listed by serial number and is described as "Winchester model 52C target rifle, serial #75553C, new condition, Experimental trigger mechanism, Redfield sights and standard target style stock." Tags, which are possibly from the museum, are also included. These tags state, "Contains experimental trigger components and other experimental parts throughout;" "Gun museum experimental;" and "Winchester Model 52 experimental model. Made up in the Winchester model shop as an experimental gun (note unusual configuration), this gun was one of those left over during the move of the gun museum to Cody, Wyoming in January, 1976." The rifle has Redfield Olympic sights, scope blocks, magazine, target rifle stock with "W 935" aluminum Winchester Museum tag on the left side of the buttstock, Model 52 barrel legend on the left side, serial number on left side of the receiver and Winchester trade mark on the right side of the receiver. Note that there are no Winchester factory oval proofs. Formerly of the Peter and Patty Murray Collection. Comes with the Peter and Patty Murray Collection tag. Note that the aforementioned Winchester-Western letter is addressed to Peter Murray.
