Exceptional Master Factory Engraved Remington Model 11 F Premier Grade Semi-Automatic Shotgun The highest grade executed by Remington's Custom Shop, a Premier Remington started life from a set of hand-picked and fitted components, receiving an expert touch from the very beginning. The engraving alone could take upward of 40 hours, and the arm would be completed with top-grade hand checkered furniture. Most famous as the shotgun that introduced thousands of Army Air Force door gunners to the art of aerial gunnery, this Model 11 has received the full Custom Shop treatment. Single nickel bead sight on the solid rib barrel with "CYL." hand-engraved on the left side beneath the stamped two-line address and patent markings and a 4 7/8 inch wedge of punch dot backed scroll engraving on each side of the breech. The receiver and trigger guard show 90% plus coverage of fine engraving, which includes hand-engraved serial numbers and the inscription "T.F.COLE" on the underside of the guard; Cole has not been identified. The lion's share of the engraving is traditional American scroll and punch dot work with the addition of a repeating Maltese Cross motif on the lower edges and trigger guard, an eight-pointed starburst on the bolt release, and a sequence of three game scenes on each side with the right showing a pair of ducks in flight over a marsh in the center flanked by a single pheasant and goose in similar scenes and the left showing a pair of hunting dogs in the field with a single quail to the left and two pigeons to the right. Fitted with extra fancy hand-checkered walnut furniture, with engraving on the magazine cap, angled and curved panel borders, a knob-grip wrist, unmarked gold inscription panel and a solid Pachmayr recoil pad. Measurements are: 14 1/2 inch length of pull, 1 7/8 inch drop at comb, 2 7/8 inch drop at heel, light cast-off. Manufacturer: Remington Arms Inc Model: 11f BBL: 26 inch solid rib Stock: English walnut Gauge: 12 Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 80733 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Excellent with 90% plus of the original blue finish showing a small amount of spotting and handling marks overall, as well as the start of a brown patina on the barrel and atop the receiver. The engraving is all sharply executed as is the checkering. Very fine wood with some shallow dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
