Exceptional Cased Factory Howard Dove Master Engraved and Signed Nickel-Plated Third Generation Colt Single Action Buntline Special Revolver Manufactured in 1979. The revolver features factory Class "C" floral scroll and punch dot engraving done by Colt Master Engraver Howard Dove with coverage on the barrel, ejector rod housing, frame, cylinder flats, back strap and trigger guard. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, "COLT BUNTLINE 44 SPECIAL" on the left side in a banner and the two-line, three patent dates are marked on the left side of the frame followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the left side of the grip straps under the grips. The left side of the butt under the grip is marked "HOWARD DOVE - COLT ENGR 1773284-75C". Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish with niter blue cylinder pin, release and screws and fitted with smooth grips with silver Colt medallions. The grips are numbered to the gun. Complete in a beautiful custom made antique style Colt London Agency style oak case with brass disk inlaid in the lid and green felt lining. There are three compartments, one covered with brass pull and a 24 round bullet board. In the case is a nickel oiler and cleaning rod.
