Excellent Signed Documented Japanese Blade, Edo Attributed, with Shirasaya Mounts Included with the blade are photocopies of relevant documentation, most importantly a NBTHK-style 'origami' certificate and an appraisal performed by Tom Kiernan of Kiernan Galleries, which identifies the blade signature as the work of Nobuyoshi (a smith in Shinano Province) circa 1655. Overall length is 36 1/4 inches, with an edge length of 27 3/4 inches, showing a very active wavy hamon, sharp grain, and installed in a two-piece silver habaki. The tang has two mekugi-ana, with a 13-figure signature on the left side. With a set of shirasaya mounts and two cloth bags, one in purple, the other black with gold dragon and maroon floral motifs.
