Engraved J.E. Evans Philadelphia Percussion Pistol James E. Evans manufactured copies of Henry Deringers popular pocket pistols in the 1850s and early 1860s. This small example has scroll engraving, standard sights, "J. E. EVANS PHILADA" on the top of the barrel, and a checkered bird's head stock. Manufacturer: Evans J E Model: Pocket BBL: 3 inch flat top round Stock: walnut Gauge: 58 Finish: brown./casehardened Grips: Serial Number: NSN Class: Antique Condition: Good. The barrel has dark brown patina, and the lock has gray patina. Both have some light oxidation. The German silver components have lightly aged. The stock is also fine and has crisp checkering, a small tension crack at the lock screw, and minor handling and storage wear. The lock is mechanically fine, and the markings and engraving patterns are mostly clear.
