Engraved J.P. Sauer & Sohn Drilling with Scope and Case This post-1951 drilling features a front bead tipped blade sight, hinged rear sight activated by the selector switch on the upper tang, and a Hensoldt Wetlzar Diatal 6x42 scope on claw mounts with a leather lens cover. The markings on the underside of the barrels indicate that the right barrel is "HALF CHOKE" and the left "FULL CHOKE"; both have 2 3/4 inch chambers. Detailed geometric and scroll engraving is featured on all sides of the action, at the breech on the barrels, and on many of the small components. Additional features include the Greener safety switch located on the left flat, cocking indicators, double triggers, checkered walnut pistol grip stock and forearm with cheek rest, serrated Sauer buttplate, and a sling attached to studs on the bottom of the barrel and buttstock. It comes with a custom luggage style case with green exterior and leather straps. The interior has green felt lining and is divided into compartments. The length of pull is 13 3/4 inch. The barrels retain 80% of the original blue finish with a section worn bare centered under the rifle sight and thinning finish on the left shotgun barrel at the breech. The action has been cleaned to bright as has part of the trigger guard which retains 50% of the blue finish. The stock is very good with crisp checkering, uneven varnish, and some overall minor scratches. The optics and case are very good.
