The only markings are a "M" on the bottom of the lower barrel of gun A and a "2" on the bottom of the lower barrel of gun B. Each side of the box lock actions has a different panel scenes. They include a doe, a dog, a pastoral scene with a steeple, a scene with ducks and a house. The top and bottom of the actions have leaf engraving, and the folding triggers have simple floral patterns. The rifled barrels have slightly irregular bore sizes, but accuracy was not an issue, and the rifling itself is rather surprising, given these pistols were meant for short range self defense. The smooth grips terminate in German silver cap compartments. The metal is mostly bright. The action and other components have some darker gray patina. There are patches of light pitting throughout. The grip is fair with some minor cracking, and a chip at the heel and toe. It is mechanically fine and has crisp engraving. B) Over/Under Pocket Percussion Pistol See A. Manufacturer: Unmarked Model: Percussion BBL: 2 3/8 inch round Stock: Gauge: 44 percussion Finish: bright Grips: walnut Serial Number: 2 Class: Antique Condition: Very good. The metal was buffed some time ago and has mostly gray patina, some patches of mild pitting, a few deeper scratches, and minor marks. The wood is also very good with a chip at the heel, minor scrapes, and some pressure marks. It is mechanically fine and has crisp engraving.
