Border and scroll engraved treble grip action signed "ALEX HENRY & CO." on each side and with blued floor plate, blued top lever, and automatic safety with gold inlaid "SAFE". Figured 14 5/8 inch stock including 2 inch figured wood extension. Checkered butt, grip and splinter forearm. Blued scroll engraved trigger guard and inset with a vacant gold escutcheon on the underside of the butt. Weight: 5 lbs. 8 oz., Birmingham nitro proof marks, 2 3/4 inch chambers (proved at 2 1/2 inch), bored approx. cyl and 3/8 choke, barrel dimensions: right proved at 21, measuring .615, minimum wall thickness 32; left proved at 21, measuring .616, minimum wall thickness 35. In lined and fitted brass cornered leather case, the lid with Chas. Playfair & Co. of Aberdeen trade label, the lid initialed "R.G.B.I.". Barrels retaining much professionally reblacked finish beginning to fade to a plum color, some handling and storage marks, some rubbing at the muzzles and along the edges of the rib, action now bright with some discoloration, slight traces of casehardened finish, engraving clear. Floor plate and trigger guard reblued, engraving clear. Stock with numerous handling and storage bruises, marks, scratches and a small gouge on the left side of the butt. There is a small setting crack behind the upper action tang. Mechanically excellent.
