Engraved 12 Gauge Denk Damascus Hammerless Double Rifle Manufactured in Vienna, Austria. Dovetailed wide base blade front and fixed iron rear sights on the solid matte rib with floral scroll engraved dolls head extension. The top of the left barrel at the breech is marked "F. DENK" and "IN WIEN" on the right barrel. There is an eagle and "crown/G" proof mark on the underside of the left barrel. The action, break lever, forearm hardware, trigger guard and left side stock flat mounted safety are engraved with fine English scroll designs and a rosette also on the break lever. The safety is also marked in gold "OFFEN" and "GESPERT". Each side of the action is marked "F.Z. DENK/IN WIEN" in a banner. The right side of the water table is marked "2/4" and the left side "11/12/20/21/LIPERT.2.". The forearm hardware is marked "20/21" and "2/4/11/12". The inside wood of the forearm is also stamped "LIPERT.2." Brown Damascus barrels that gauge at 70 caliber, with a sling swivel on the underside near the muzzle, drilled and tapped closer to the forearm for sling swivels, blue trigger guard and break lever, casehardened remaining parts, double triggers with a unique push up front trigger and mounted with a multi-point forearm and pistol grip stock with a horn grip cap and buttplate, and a sling swivel. The right rear of the stock has a ebony script insert which reads "BAR/HIRSH/SCHWARSWILD" (translated bar black wild deer) and a small round disk inset. Measurements - Bore Diameter at Muzzle: both 0.71 inches, Length of Pull: 14 1/4 inches from front and 13 from rear, drop at comb: 1 5/8 inches, drop at heel: 2 5/8 inches, cast: off, toe: in, overall weight: 8 pounds 8.6 ounces. The barrels retain 90% brown finish with 99% damascus pattern remaining and showing some scuffs and scratches. The trigger guard has a small hole drilled in it and retains 95% blue finish with some thinning and edge wear. The lower tang shows generous faded original case colors with a smooth gray patina on the remaining metal surfaces. One of the screws for the underside action plate is absent. The revarnished wood is also very good with a few minor dents, handling marks and very crisp checkering. The engraving and markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
