Exceptional World War II British No. 4 MKI (T) Enfield Sniper Rifle with Matching Scope, Mount Scope Can and Wooden Transit Case These rifles were the standard British sniper rifles developed in the late 1930s and used until the early 1960s. The receiver side wall is marked "No. 4 MK I (T)", and the butt socket marked "M47C/1944/ENGLAND/E34441/TR". Has the correct and matching No. 32 MKIII scope that is marked "TEL.STG.No 32 MKIII/O.S. 2039 A/A.K&S No16610/1944/broad arrow", and rings numbered "558" and "559" on the right side. The mounting bracket is correctly stamped with the matching serial number (E34441), and the scope number (16610) is correctly stamped on top of the wrist of the buttstock. Complete with the original No. 8 Mark I metal scope can numbered in white paint on the lid to match the rifle and scope. Standard blade front sight and tangent military rear sight and original matching numbered bolt assembly. Correct wartime smooth semi-pistol grip stock with the standard proofmarks, matching serial number (34441) on the forestock and correctly stamped "S51" on behind the pistol grip area. The buttstock is fitted with a wartime pot metal buttplate with butt trap compartment and the correct screw-on cheekpiece. The scope is complete with an original British issue leather lens caps that are correctly British proofed. Has a matching numbered magazine. Complete with a WWII issue green wooden storage/shipping container. The buttstock and forend/handguards are all excellent with nice original proofs and serial numbers showing only minor handling marks overall. The scope and mount retain 85% black painted exterior finish with finish loss on both ends of the scope tube. The optics are clear and sharp and knobs move correctly. The metal scope can retains 98% brown exterior finish with only minor edge wear. The wooden storage case is in very good condition with 90% green painted finish showing finish loss on the corners, edges and sides, with heavy pressure dents and dings overall. Its missing both leather handles, however, those can be easily replaced. A top condition WWII British No 4 MKI (T) sniper rifle rig.
