ELVIS PRESLEY - SIGNED 1963 UNITED STATES ONE-DOLLAR FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE

Provenance and Authenticity:

This item is presented as a 1963 Series B United States one-dollar Federal Reserve note bearing a handwritten signature attributed to Elvis Presley across the right side of the obverse. The note retains the central portrait of George Washington, Federal Reserve district seal, green Treasury seal, serial numbering, and printed Treasury signatures. The autograph appears in blue ink and extends diagonally across the denomination area and Treasury seal. The currency displays visible circulation wear, including folds, creasing, toning, edge wear, surface discoloration, and minor staining consistent with age and prolonged handling.

Signature:

Elvis Presley

Description:

The composition features a circulated American one-dollar bill with the engraved portrait of George Washington positioned at the center. A large blue-ink signature attributed to Elvis Presley is prominently placed across the upper-right portion of the note, overlapping the Treasury seal, serial number area, and printed denomination. The energetic handwritten lines contrast with the intricate engraved details of the currency and create a visually distinctive piece of music memorabilia. Natural aging, softened folds, worn edges, and uneven toning contribute to the historical character of the object.

Historical significance:

Elvis Presley transformed twentieth-century popular music by combining elements of rhythm and blues, country, gospel, and early rock and roll into a groundbreaking performance style. His recordings, television appearances, films, and live performances established him as one of the most influential entertainers in modern cultural history. Often remembered as the "King of Rock and Roll," Presley remains an enduring symbol of postwar American music, youth culture, and celebrity.

Valuation:

Elvis Presley autographs remain highly desirable within the international music and entertainment memorabilia market. Signed currency is particularly appealing because it combines a recognizable historical object with a bold and visually prominent autograph. Collector interest is influenced by signature clarity, ink preservation, overall condition, provenance, and the presence of supporting authentication documentation.
