"Cañon Hogan – Navaho" An authentic photogravure captured by Edward S. Curtis in 1904 or 1906 and published in 1907. It was featured as a small text-volume illustration in Volume 1 (page 82) of his monumental 20-volume masterwork, The North American Indian. he photograph captures a traditional Navajo hogan (an earth-and-timber dwelling) nestled under the towering, dramatic cliffs of the canyon landscape.
