SN 872. Cal. 7.63 mm. Early configuration Conehammer with non-reinforced bbl extension, having 5.5" bbl, a fixed front sight and pinned 1-10 rear sight. Long extractor and separately retained firing pin. 3-line chamber address with Crown/Crown U proof on left side. The right side of the bbl extension is unmarked. The full SN in large digits on back of frame just below locking lever. SN is repeated on all the usual rear sight components and firing pin retainer. Disassembly shows all matching numbers including each of the replacement grips, serrated at an angle, and internally recessed as per other pistols in that serial range. Walnut stock, with hairline crack below grip cut-out, has looped hinge and unnumbered lug. Lid has been notched for large ring hammer and internally repaired with a glued-in strip. PROVENANCE: The Friedrich-Wilhelm Dauphin Collection - Germany. CONDITION: Approximately 97-98% refurbished rust blue with floorplate retaining 90% orig finish. VG - excellent fire blued parts showing no suggestion of enhancement. Replacement grips darkened and aged to match balance of pistol. Dark bore with a shallow rifling and a very slight bulge ring. Perfect manual mechanics. VG stock, correct for Large Ring pistol, with oil staining, scattered handling dings and lid repairs.
