DWM Model 1908 Commercial Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol This is a solid example of a DWM Model 1908 commercial contract Luger pistol that was manufactured in 1912. It has the blank chamber with the DWM monogram on the front toggle and the short 4 inch barrel chambered in the desirable 9 mm Luger cartridge. The left side of the barrel extension, breechblock and underside of the barrel are all stamped with the early "crown/U" and "B" firing/acceptance proofs. The underside of the barrel has the same proofs, including an additional "crown/G" proof. The barrel is also stamped with the bore diameter over the serial number. Correctly numbered in the commercial manner with the full serial number on the frame and underside of the barrel and the last two digits on the various smaller parts. It has the standard second pattern "GESICHER" marked frame safety area and the "GELADEN" marked extractor. It correctly does not have the stock lug on the rear of the frame nor does it have the hold open device. It has the blued metal finish with straw colored smaller parts. It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips with the right side numbered "56," and the left side numbered "69". It comes with a tin-plated magazine body with an unmarked wooden base. Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1908 Commercial BBL: 4 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Luger Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 52072 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine with 85% of the blue finish overall with cold blue touch up on the right side frame rail and barrel extension and on the back strap. The side plate has a dulled blue finish. The smaller parts retain 95% of their refinished straw colors overall. The grips are also in very fine condition with a nice dark color overall with some minor handling marks on both sides. Mechanically excellent.
