DWM Model 1906 First Issue (Altered) Navy Luger Semi-Automatic Pistol Manufactured for the use of the German Imperial Navy, the Navy Model Luger survived in limited quantities due to both the rigors of sea/coastline service and deliberate destruction in the aftermath of World War I. Blade front and 100-200 meter adjustable notch rear sight, with the blank chamber, "DWM" monogram, and "W.K./806", indicating the pistol as part of the small arms arsenal at Kiel. The safety has been properly reconfigured from the First Issue style (where the lever is pushed up to engage the safety, a style peculiar to the Navy) to the Second Issue style (the lever is lowered to engage the safety, conforming with the manual of operations for Army-issued Lugers), with the original "GESICHERT" marking milled out and a new one stamped above. "Crown" and "crown/M" proofs are present on multiple parts, as well as matching external serial numbers. Fitted with a set of straw finished small parts, niter blue pins and springs, and a nickel finished magazine with concentric ring carved base numbered "2823". Manufacturer: DWM Model: 1908 Navy BBL: 6 inch round Stock: Gauge: 9 mm Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 4796 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very good as arsenal reworked with 60% of the faded blue, scattered spotting, a rough brown patina on the grip straps, edge wear and mild handling marks. The straw parts retain 30% refurbished color, and the niter components around 10% with a dull mixed gray patina on the remainder. The magazine base is cracked and damaged, and the grips are good with some stains and chips. Mechanically good.
