DWM Model 1902 Luger Carbine Complete with the Walnut Shoulder Stock, Spare Magazine and Custom Case This is a late production DWM Model 1902 Luger carbine complete with a walnut shoulder stock and attaching iron, and a spare magazine, all stored in a current made custom storage case. This series of Luger has the desirable 11 3/4 inch barrel with the DWM factory installed frame hanger on the front end of the frame that retains the small walnut forend. This forend is very important to the function of this series as it actually houses a small spring accelerator inside that helps cycle the longer carbine length barrel. These early Lugers have the various early rare and desirable features such as: the long old style frame, flat mainspring, grip safety, dished toggles with toggle locks, and the recessed/flat breech bolt with the small spring extractor. The top of the chamber is blank, with the front toggle roll marked with the DWM logo for the "Deutsche Waffen und Munitions Fabriken" factory. The full serial number (23807) is stamped on the underside of the frame hanger and the underside of the barrel (under the rear sight location). It also has the last two digits of the serial number (07) stamped on the various other smaller parts. The forend is also numbered inside the hanger cutout (807). The grips are not numbered, which is correct for these early pistols; however, the back of the right has been carved with a previous owner's name "A. Olson" in script letters. As noted, this example comes with a new manufactured walnut shoulder stock that has an unnumbered attaching iron. The complete pistol rig comes with two tin-plated magazines, both with walnut bases; one stamped "GERMANY" and the other one stamped with a "Crown proof/3253". The pistol, stock, spare magazines are all stored housed in a contemporary leather bound oak storage case that has a green canvas, zipped outer cover.
