Decorative Snaphance Belt Pistol The snaphance/snaphaunce was mostly commonly used from the mid-16th century to the late 17th century. The pistol appears to have been built for decorative purposes using components from multiple original antique weapons. The lock is functional, but the barrel vent is not drilled through. The stock is fair with numerous visible repairs, including a stabilized break in the wrist, and somewhat crude carving.
