Nippes Maynard Patent Tape Primer Conversion Model 1840 Musket Marked with "EDWARD MAYNARD/PATENTEE/1846" on the primer, "MILL/CREEK/PA/1841" on the tail of the lock, "1841" and standard proofs on the barrel at the breech, and two cartouches on the left flat (one is "WAT"). These conversions were conducted at the tail end of the 1840s. Manufacturer: Nippes D. The stock has legible cartouches, some scratches and surface chips throughout, some dents on the left side of the butt, and a larger chip and two "X" marks on the left flat. Mechanically excellent.
