First Year Production Three Digit Serial Number 350 Colt First Series Match Target Model Semi-Automatic Pistol with Desirable King Sight Manufactured in 1938, the first year of production for the Colt Match Target Model pistol. Standard two-line address/patent dates marked on top of the barrel. The left side of the barrel is marked with the early "MATCH/bullseye/TARGET" model marking. "THE WOODSMAN" is on the left side of the frame, and "COLT AUTOMATIC/CAL..22 LONG RIFLE", followed by the Rampant Colt on the left side of the slide. The serial number is marked on the butt. Elevation adjustable front blade and custom installed, King patent custom windage adjustable rear sights, serrated trigger, serrated panel on the back strap indicating it was designed for high velocity ammunition and two tone blue magazine marked "COLT WOODSMAN/CAL .22 LR/MATCH TARGET MOD." Fitted with checkered walnut target grips with right hand thumb rest. Comes with a non-matching factory maroon hinged lid box with correct end labels, sight tool and papers. The pistol retains 97% original blue finish remaining with some muzzle and high edge wear, as well as a few scattered minor scratches and a minor ding on the right rear frame. The Roper grips are very fine with a few minor nicks on high points, a small chip on the lower right side and crisp checkering. The markings are sharp. Mechanically excellent. The box is good. The exterior has faded a bit, and there is some corner and edge wear, some loose of the labels and three separated corners on the lid.
