Excellent Documented Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter and Original Box Manufactured in 1929. The top of the barrel is marked with the one-line address, "45 COLT" is on the left side, and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three-patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. Matching serial numbers, including the inside of each grip panel and grip straps, rear face of cylinder, and matching assembly numbers on loading gate and interior rear of frame (41). Blue finish with casehardened frame and hammer. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, 7 1/2 inch barrel length, blue finish, rubber grips and that it was shipped as 1 to Union Hardware and Metal Company in Los Angeles, California, on February 7, 1929. Comes with the original brown hinged lid box numbered to the gun and "special Instructions" pamphlet. The revolver retains 95% original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, some scattered minor spotting (mainly on the grip straps) and some cycling wear on the cylinder. The frame retains 97% original bright case colors, and the hammer retains 90% original bright case colors with a smooth gray on the top. The grips are also excellent having faded slightly and showing a couple of very minor handling marks and crisp checkering. The markings remain sharp. The action is excellent. The otherwise good box had the incomplete lid partially detached and has three side flaps separated also (in the box).
