UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Dave Lanara letter stating the following: "This revolver was initially finished, inspected and accepted by the Colt factory in 1885 and probably issued to troops during the Apache wars. While in subsequent storage, it was recalled by the government for refurbishing in 1895. It was the part of the 800 refurbished cavalry revolvers that were issued to the New York Militia. An effort was made to maintain matching cylinder and barrel by adding the first two digits of the serial number, 11, to the already present last 4 digits on the cyl. & bbl". CONDITION: very good as factory refinished. Bbl. and grip straps retain over 70% blue showing light carry wear with scattered small marks and scratches. Frame retains 70% light and fading case colors. Grips have weakened markings. Sound action. Bore retains sound rifling showing scattered small spots of pitting. (01-27975/DS). ANTIQUE. $11,000-14,000.
