Very Fine Documented Colt Bisley Model Frontier Six Shooter Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter Manufactured in 1902 and shipped that year. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line Hartford address, and "(BISLEY MODEL)/COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" on the left side. The two-line, three patent date markings is on the left side of the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame, trigger guard and back strap, and the assembly number "28" is marked on the loading gate. Part of the partial penciled serial number "304" is visible on the inside of the right panel. Casehardened hammer and frame, niter blue trigger and screw heads with blue remaining parts. Standard blade front and frame notch rear sights, and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter verifies the configuration, with the grips as "Not Listed" (hard rubber) and that it was shipped as 1 of 13 to M. Hartley Company in New York, N.Y. on September 27, 1902. Manufacturer: Colt Model: Bisley BBL: 4 3/4 inch round Stock: Gauge: 44-40 Finish: blue/casehardened Grips: hard rubber Serial Number: 233049 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Very fine with 85% bright original high polish blue finish remaining, showing some muzzle and high point wear, normal rotation wear on the cylinder, and a mix of brown patina and original blue finish on the grip straps, as well as some minor spotting. 75% of the original bright case colors remain on the frame with some minor spotting. 80% of the fiery niter blue remains on the small parts and screw heads. The grips have faded to brown and remain very fine also with only light handling marks and crisp checkering. The action is excellent.
