Colt Bisley Model Single Action Army Revolver in .32-20 W.C.F. Identified to a Colorado State Prison Guard with Factory Letter and Provenance Letter The accompanying factory letter lists this revolver as shipped on May 31, 1906, to George Tritch Hardware Company in Denver, Colorado, in .32-20 with a 7 1/2 inch barrel, blue finish, and type of grips not listed, as one of five guns of the same type in the shipment. An included March 4, 1994, dated typewritten letter of provenance addressed from a relative states this revolver was the property of Judd A. Riley who was a guard at the Colorado State Prison in Canyon City, Colorado. It features a period modified beaded blade target front sight and frame notch rear sight. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with the one-line Colt Hartford legend with "(BISLEY MODEL) 32 W.C.F." on the left. The matching full serial number is marked on the frame, trigger guard and butt, with matching "515" correctly hand etched on the interiors of the grips, an unnumbered cylinder, and assembly number "92" on the loading gate.

  • Condition: Very fine overall, retains 75% original blue finish, 70% original vibrant case colors, with a few patches of very minor pitting, distinct markings in the metal, and well-defined edges in the grips with minimal handling evidence and crisp checkering. Mechanically functions.
