Cased Pair of Engraved Over/Under Percussion Pistols Retailed by Collins of London with Accessories -A) Collins Superposed Barrel Percussion Pistol Cased Pair of Engraved Over/Under Percussion Pistols Retailed by Collins of London with Accessories -A) Collins Superposed Barrel Percussion Pistol Both of these pistols were sold by James Collins (circa 1825-1854) and are signed "-COLINS. LONDON-" on top of their upper barrels and "-COLLINS-" on each lock. They also display fine scrollwork and border engraving and have sliding safeties, double triggers, bead sights, "crown/GP" proofs, and semi-pistol grip angled stocks with fine checkering, silver thumb plates, and ramrods threaded into the engraved pommel caps. They come in a J. Beattie labelled fitted case with tin of caps, bullet mold, small powder flask, keys, bore rod, cleaning/oiling tool, and three lead balls. The trade label indicates Beattie was located at 205 Regent Street in London. The "Collins Repository" was located nearby at 115 Regent Street and sold firearms by various makers. The locks are mechanically fine. The case and accessories are fine with moderate storage wear, including some chipping on the case and tears on the lining.
