Collector's Lot of Two Webley Double Action Revolvers -A) Webley W.S Target Model Revolver, 22 Caliber Conversion with "SAP" Markings Collector's Lot of Two Webley Double Action Revolvers -A) Webley W.S Target Model Revolver, 22 Caliber Conversion with "SAP" Markings Mechanically similar to the Parker-Hale conversion, though permanent in nature, with a shortened 22 caliber cylinder, a barrel sleeve that extends an extra half-inch to meet the cylinder, the hammer altered with a rimfire striker and a raised blade installed in the original rear sight area. Elevation adjustable front and notch rear sights, "22" stamped on the side of the barrel, "'W.S' TARGET MODEL" on the top strap, and the Webley "winged bullet" on the frame. Fitted with a pair of checkered grips. The back strap is stamped "SAP JD 2" and the interior of the grips and grip straps are stamped and pencil marked to an A.J. Viljoen and "S.A.P./JHB.". Though not verified or documented, the markings suggest that the revolver was the personal property of a South African Police officer located in Johannesburg. The grips are very good, with a few chips absent from the left panel and mild scratches and scuffs. Mechanically fine. B) Webley Mark III Double Action Revolver Introduced in 1897 with internal improvements over the Mark II. Fixed blade and notch sights, Webley patent and "winged bullet" markings on the left side of the frame, matching numbers on the frame, barrel and cylinder, and checkered bird's head grips with a lanyard swivel on the butt. Manufacturer: Webley & Scott Ltd Model: Mark III BBL: 6 inch solid rib Stock: Gauge: 455 Finish: blue Grips: hard rubber Serial Number: 10745 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Fine with 60% of the original blue finish showing areas of brown patina, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are very good, with a few dings and scratches overall, as well as some fading to a chocolate brown color. Mechanically excellent.
