The bolt, floor plate, and bayonet assembly have matching "348" serial numbers. With a smooth two piece finger groove stock with flat forged buttplate, and small slot for a cleaning rod (not included). The wood is also fine with some heavier pressure dents on the right side of the buttstock and small dings overall. Mechanically excellent. B) Unusual Japanese Kokura Arsenal Type 38 Bolt Action Rifle Produced by an unknown party, this rifle bears a very strong overall resemblance to an Arisaka Type 38 infantry rifle, but the receiver is clearly marked with the "4/4/Type" nomenclature beneath the untouched mum, which is typically reserved for the Type 44 Cavalry Carbine, and the bore measurement is closer to the 7.7mm of the Type 99, as opposed to the 6.5mm used by the 38 and 44. Blade and folding ladder sights, with an unnumbered dust cover on the receiver. With a smooth pistol grip stock and a flat steel buttplate. Manufacturer: Japanese State Military Weapons Model: Type 38 BBL: 31 inch round Stock: hardwood Gauge: 7.7 mm Finish: blue Grips: Serial Number: 6520 Class: Curio & Relic Long Gun Condition: Very fine as arsenal refinished/assembled, with 95% plus blue finish, showing some light handling marks overall. Some of the components have had their numbers removed, and the extractor is numbered to a different firearm. The stock is fine as cleaned/varnished, with some scuffs and dents, tool marks ahead of the trigger guard, and some shallow pitting on the buttplate.
