Collector's Lot of Two German Bar Pistols -A) Scarce Sauer Bar Double Barrel Pistol Collector's Lot of Two German Bar Pistols -A) Scarce Sauer Bar Double Barrel Pistol Patented in 1897, this pistol features an over/under two barrel group, a manually revolving bar shaped cylinder, and fixed round blade front and notch rear sights. The serial number "2228" is stamped on the left grip strap under the panel and on the end of the cylinder. The cylinder is marked "DEUTSCHLAND 983282/PATENT/BELGIEN 134215" on one side and "ENGLAND 11998/RUSSLAND/NORD AMERIKA" on the other. The grips are checkered in a diamond pattern around the screw escutcheon. Manufacturer: German Model: Bar Pistol BBL: 2 1/2 inch fluted Stock: Gauge: 6.35 mm Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 2228 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Excellent with 95% of the bright original blue finish, clear markings, light handling marks, traces of original nitre blue on the trigger sides and back and a smooth gray patina on the trigger face. The grips are also excellent with well defined checkering and small handling marks. Mechanically excellent. B) Schuler "Reform" Four Barrel Pocket Bar Pistol This four barrel rising block pistol was developed by August Schuler in Suhl, Germany from 1906 to 1913. It is marked" BREVETE/D.R.P./177023/eagle" on the left side of the barrel block. "Crown/N" proofmarks are at the top of the barrel block and the left side of the frame behind the safety. The letter "L" is stamped on the rear of the butt. Fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with "REFORM PISTOLE/BREVETE" in a circle at the center. Manufacturer: Schuler August Model: Reform BBL: 3 inch fluted Stock: Gauge: 6.35 mm Finish: blue Grips: hard rubber Serial Number: 2383 Class: Curio & Relic Handgun Condition: Fine with 80% of the original blue finish remaining. Displaying small handling marks, light edge wear, and scattered patches of a thin brown patina. The grips are very good with a small chip on right rear panel, handling marks, well defined checkering, and clear markings. Mechanically excellent.
