Emmanuel Adolphe Langlois des Essarts (1839_1909) French poet and man of letters. ALS. Jules Lemaitre {1853-1914) French critic and dramatist. Three letters, 1877-1904. Pierre Marie Vinay (1821-1882) French politician. ALS, 1878. Charles Grad (1842-1890) politician Catholic - protesting deputy - and writer scientific Alsatian , author of numerous books, articles and a diary written throughout his life. ALS, 1888. Joseph-Philippe Simon, called Lockroy (1803-1891) French actor and playwright. ALS. Jean-Baptiste Honor_ Raymond Capefigue (1801 _ 1872) French historian and biographer. ALS, 1869. Fran_ois Debret (1777-1850) French architect and Freemason. ALS. Jean-Pierre Cl_ment (2 June 1809 _ 8 November 1870; known as Pierre Clement) was a French political economist and historian, born at Draguignan. He was in the Ministry of Finance and a member of the Institute and wrote, with the aid of original documents, works on French financial administration, particularly in the epoch of Colbert. ALS, c. 1866. Rene Stourm (1837-1917) historian and French finance administrator. ALS, 1892. Gustave Fran_ois Xavier Delacroix de Ravignan (1795-1858) French Jesuit preacher and author. Educated in Paris, he resigned his army commission to study law. Auditor of the royal court. Deputy attorney-general by 1821. ALS.
