Civil War U.S. Starr Model 1858 Army Double Action Percussion Revolver Manufactured during the late 1850s and early 1860s. This example has the factory markings on both sides of the frame, cylinder and hammer cut-out numbered to gun, a large number "6" or "9" stamped on the cylinder near the serial number, "W" inspector marks on most of the major components and a grip with an inspector cartouche on the left side. Manufacturer: Starr Arms Company Model: 1858 BBL: 6 inch round Stock: Gauge: 44 percussion Finish: blue Grips: walnut Serial Number: 4827 Class: Antique Condition: Fine. The revolver retains nearly 30% bright original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. The grip is fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches and a legible cartouche. The action needs work as the hammer does not release properly after the action is cycled.
