Outstanding Documented Nickel Finish Civil War Era Smith & Wesson No. 2 Spur Trigger Revolver with Case and Factory Letter Manufactured in early 1865, this is an outstanding example of a Civil War era Smith & Wesson No. 2 revolver. Due to their self-contained cartridges and bored through cylinders, these No. 2 revolvers were one of the more advanced sidearms of the day, being purchased in large numbers by both officers and enlisted men during the Civil War who were in search of a reliable and effective sidearm. This example remains in extremely high condition, a rare occurrence on today's collectors market. It has the standard Smith & Wesson markings, the matching serial number on the butt and stamped inside the right grip panel, and the matching assembly number "119" on the left of the grip frame, front face of the cylinder, and rear face of the barrel lug. It is fitted with a blade front sight, notch rear sight on top of the cylinder stop, and a pair of smooth rosewood grips. Includes a finely figured hardwood presentation case with a blank brass plaque on the lid and interior lined with maroon velvet.

These Smith & Wesson No. 2 revolvers are seldom seen in high condition like this; do not miss this opportunity!
