Min Shan/SWD AKS Automatic Rifle, Class III/NFA Registered Fully Transferrable Machine Gun Manufactured in the early 1980s and imported by Clayco Sports of Clay Center, Kansas, the Min Shan Factory was part of the grouping of manufacturers, businesses and related entities that would be branded the China North Industries Corporation (aka Norinco), making it among the earliest Chinese AK's to reach American shores. This example was subsequently upgraded (work attributed to SWD of Atlanta) to full automatic, making it pretty much the closest thing on the market to an original Chinese military issue Type 56-I assault rifle one can reasonably expect to find. Hooded post front and tangent rear sights, with a detachable angled flash hider on the muzzle, a bayonet lug on the gas port assembly, and the original makers and import marks on the left side of the stamped receiver. The dust cover/safety is now a "safe/full/semi" configured selector switch; unlike some conversions, the 'finger' extending from the trigger guard was not removed, and the top of the safety was lowered to clear the bolt carrier handle. Fitted with a black resin handguard and serrated pistol grip, and an underfolding steel buttstock. Magazine absent. Manufacturer: S W D Inc Model: AKS BBL: 16 1/4 inch round Stock: plastic/metal Gauge: 7.62x39 Finish: black Grips: Serial Number: 100330 Class: Class III Condition: Very good as upgraded, with 90% plus black finish, showing some light wear and handling marks overall, including some minor scuffs on the furniture. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
