Reilly Percussion Traveler's Pistols with Accessories -A) Reilly Pistol Joseph Charles Reilly operated in London starting around 1814. The business became Reilly & Co. in 1859. The pistols are likely from the 1840s and are marked "J.C. REILLY LONDON" on the top of the barrels which have post and notch sights, swivel mounted ramrods, and banded breeches. The locks are marked "REILLY" on the bottom edge below the hammer. They have attractive acanthus scrollwork engraving. The bag shaped wrists are checkered. The case has a Reilly gunmaker label, four lead balls, small pick, bullet mold, nipple wrench, powder flask, and oiler. Manufacturer: English Model: Percussion BBL: 5 1/2 inch octagon Stock: walnut Gauge: 55 Finish: brown/casehardened/blue Grips: Serial Number: NSN Class: Antique Condition: Very good with mostly gray patina, some minor spotting, and light pitting. The face of the hammer is chipped. The stock has crisp checkering, minor scrapes and dings, and a chip on the right front. Mechanically fine. B) Reilly Pistol See A. Manufacturer: English Model: Percussion BBL: 5 1/2 inch octagon Stock: walnut Gauge: 55 Finish: brown/casehardened/blue Grips: Serial Number: NSN Class: Antique Condition: Very good with gray patina, light spotting and pitting, and subtle Damascus patterns. The nipple is chipped, and the swivel is a replacement. The stock has crisp checkering, a minor chip at the bolster, some small dings and scuffs, and a crack in the left at the wedge. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are good with moderate overall wear including some loose pieces in the interior.
