Condition:
The Whitman No. 9008 folder, designed to house the complete Buffalo Nickel collection, exhibits considerable age-appropriate wear. Visible flaws include significant surface rubbing, scuffing, and discoloration across the covers, most notably a distinct rectangular area of material loss or fading on the top front. The edges and corners are softened and show handling marks. Internally, the blue cardstock, while largely intact, presents some toning and minor surface abrasions. All thirteen included Buffalo Nickels are ungraded, appearing in circulated condition with varying degrees of wear, consistent with their age and use. As a partially filled collection, the majority of the sixty-four slots remain empty, offering future acquisition opportunities. Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to examine all provided high-resolution photographs to ascertain the precise condition of both the folder and its contents.

Buffalo Nickel Collection 1913-1938 – Whitman No. 9008 Partially Filled Album

Embark on a captivating numismatic journey with this partially filled Whitman No. 9008 collection album, dedicated to the iconic Buffalo Nickel series from 1913 to 1938. This engaging set currently houses 13 of the 64 possible coin slots, providing a robust foundation for an aspiring or seasoned collector to complete. While the included coins represent a selection of circulated dates, the true allure of this offering lies in the exciting prospect of filling the remaining vacancies. The Buffalo Nickel series is celebrated for its distinctive design and includes several highly sought-after key dates and mint marks (such as the 1913-S Type 2, 1914-D, 1921-S, 1924-S, 1926-S, and the rare 1937-D '3-Legged' variety), many of which are represented by the currently empty slots, presenting a thrilling challenge for completionists.

This collection offers a tangible piece of American history, capturing the artistry of James E. Fraser's design, which features a Native American profile on the obverse and a majestic buffalo on the reverse. A wonderful opportunity to delve into the rich history of United States coinage or to enhance an existing collection.
