BRUCE LEE - SIGNED 1963 UNITED STATES ONE-DOLLAR FEDERAL RESERVE NOTE

Provenance and Authenticity:

This item is presented as a 1963 Series A United States one-dollar Federal Reserve note bearing a handwritten signature attributed to Bruce Lee across the right side of the obverse. The note retains the central portrait of George Washington, Federal Reserve district seal, green Treasury seal, serial numbering, and printed Treasury signatures. The autograph appears in dark ink and extends across the Treasury seal and denomination area. The currency displays visible circulation wear, including horizontal and vertical folds, creasing, toning, edge wear, surface discoloration, and localized staining consistent with prolonged handling and age.

Signature:

Bruce Lee

Description:

The composition features a circulated American one-dollar bill with the engraved portrait of George Washington positioned at the center. A dark-ink inscription attributed to Bruce Lee is placed prominently across the upper-right and central-right portion of the note, overlapping the green Treasury seal and printed denomination. The fluid handwritten lines contrast strongly with the intricate engraved details of the currency. Natural aging, softened folds, worn edges, and uneven toning contribute to the historical character of the object, transforming an ordinary piece of American currency into a distinctive example of martial-arts and entertainment memorabilia.

Historical significance:

Bruce Lee became one of the most influential martial artists and screen performers of the twentieth century. Through his films, philosophy, physical discipline, and development of Jeet Kune Do, he transformed international perceptions of martial arts and became an enduring symbol of cultural exchange, personal freedom, and physical excellence. Memorabilia associated with Lee remains highly sought after by collectors of cinema history, martial arts, Asian-American culture, and twentieth-century popular entertainment.

Valuation:

Bruce Lee autographs are regarded as highly desirable within the international entertainment and martial-arts memorabilia market because of his enduring cultural influence and comparatively limited period of public prominence. Unusual signed objects may attract particular collector interest when the autograph is clearly visible and presented on a historically recognizable medium. Signature clarity, ink preservation, overall currency condition, provenance, and accompanying authentication documentation would significantly influence market demand and final auction performance.
