Nicholson, Ben (British, 1894–1982), One Line, 1967, drypoint etching printing with plate tone on cream paper, a unique impression printed for a personal friend David Lewis, measuring 12.25 x 5.25 inches (irregular) , a extremely rich drypoint impression with full margins. We believe this is a unique example of this etching as we have been unable to find another example. Pencil signed and dated 67 along the lower margin with the Ganymed and Marlborough blindstamp. Provenance: acquired from the artist, The Collection of Patricia Lewis, Pat and her former husband David Lewis were close friends with Ben Nicholson and at one time David was studio assistant to Barbara Hepworth

  • Condition: in good condition with very pale toning, unexamined outside of the frame
