An intriguing contemporary mixed media paper relief attributed to American artist Murray Mintz, executed in a refined palette of soft blush pinks, pale aqua, and natural handmade paper. The highly tactile composition combines torn and layered handmade papers with raised sculptural elements, suspended linear components, and expressive abstract mark-making to create a richly textured surface that blurs the distinction between painting, collage, and low-relief sculpture. The work demonstrates an appreciation for materiality and process, with deckled paper edges, subtle washes of color, and dimensional construction emphasizing the handcrafted nature of the composition. Delicate linear forms intersect the central relief while gestural blue motifs animate the background, lending the work both visual rhythm and quiet sophistication.
