Attractive Silver Banded Henry Deringer Pocket Pistol with Curry Brothers (San Francisco) Agent Markings Active from 1863 to 1886, Nathaniel and John Curry were second-generation Deringer agents, having inherited the arms business of their father Charles. German silver blade front and notch rear sights, with "P" bordered by zig-zag engraving on the left side of the breech, "DERINGER/PHILADELA'' on top, and "N.CURRY & Bro/SAN FRANCo CALa/AGENTS" on the top flat of the barrel. A pair of silver bands are inlayed on the breech, with the distinctive "bronzed" striped gray finish strong on the barrel. The "PHILADELA" address is repeated on the lock, with scroll engraving on the tang, hammer, lock, trigger guard, shield escutcheon, reverse and accent pates, blossom designs on the escutcheons, burst design on the bolster, oak-leaf accented buttplate, floral patch box lid and a pineapple trigger guard finial. Checkered walnut stock with a German silver wedge Schnabel tip inlay. A fine example of a high end agent marked Philadelphia Deringer. Manufacturer: Henry Deringer Rifles And Pistols Model: Percussion Pocket BBL: 2 1/2 inch flat top Stock: Gauge: 43 Finish: brown/casehardened Grips: walnut Serial Number: NSN Class: Antique Condition: Fine. The stock is very good with mild dents, a small amount of varnish loss on the high edges and attractive grain. Some chipping is present on the nipple, otherwise mechanically fine.
