Antique Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle with Desirable Casehardened Frame This Second Model was manufactured in 1881 and has a desirable casehardened receiver and a special order half length magazine tube. It also features German silver blade and adjustable sporting sights, a smooth straight wrist stock, and forearm, the two line address and King's improvement marking on the top of the barrel, the model designation on the upper tang, and the serial number on the lower tang. The rifle retains 40% of the original case colors and 25% of the original blue finish which has mostly faded to a brown patina. There are areas of light spotting and some slight pitting. The wood is fair with a few small dings and marks and mostly glossy surfaces. The action is fine, and the markings are clear.
