AMERICAN OAK BARN LOOM, very large rectangular form with pegged construction, with likely later pieces. 19th century. Approximately 70" HOA, 61" WOA, 64" DOA.
Catalogue Note: This loom was featured in use in the 1942 The March of Time newsreel documenting the Colonial Williamsburg Restoration.

  • Provenance:

    Property deaccessioned by the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, VA. All proceeds to benefit the collection acquisition fund.
    Accessioned in 1940.

  • Condition:

    Good overall condition with typical usage wear; many old repairs and old fairly minor breakage; some replaced elements; moderate insect damage; unknown completeness (but does appear to have most, if not all, of the required pieces).
