Matching numbered parts include entire toggle assembly w/ front toggle numbered top & bottom. Receiver & sear numbered 72 along w/ 3572 on frame & bbl. Crown N proofs; horizontal on frame & receiver. Right side of receiver & left end of rear toggle pivot has eagle 9 Krieghoff proof. Takedown lever marked "72" bottom & top. Trigger, safety & hold open numbered "72". Side plate w/ military number location plus B proof. Left grip pencil numbered "?542". Right grip stamped "B" & appears same pencil number. MAGS: good, dull finished, tin plated mag. w/ wood base numbered front to rear on rear half "153/a". UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: 4/20/84 letter from Mass State Police Ballistics section to World of Lugers Author, Sam Costanzo, asking about various proofs on this pistol. Costanzo's 5 page handwritten reply stated that since his first book, he had seen only 4 of this type & requested the use of photos of this pistol for his future work. Costanzo also explains all proofs & Krieghoff's role. CONDITION: very good bore w/ light wear. Faint straw colors w/ stained appearance; ejector has slight purple hue. Moderate hand wear to grips w/ chip by safety lever; damaged piece included for repair. Left grip noticeably proud at front strap. Good general refinished appearance w/ light to medium scattered peppery oxidation; more concentrated on grip straps. Typical high point wear plus finish loss on top & rear of receiver rails.
