Book Details: This 6 volume set of paperback texts contains the official reports from the American House of Representatives' Committee on Un-American Activities report on the Ku Klux Klan from the years 1966-1967.

The House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC) was notorious for its persecution of artists, activists, and intellectuals it considered affiliated with communists between 1938 and 1969. In the mid-1960s, however, the HUAC briefly turned its attention to the Ku Klux Klan, interrogating its leaders and holding several of them in contempt. Little actual legislative progress was made from this attempt to interrogate clansmen and the brief time that the HUAC spent challenging the KKK instead of Hollywood producers, writers, and actors has mostly been overlooked or forgotten since. Many consider these interrogations to be show trials from an institution grappling with a significant loss of credibility because of its overreach in challenging innocent artists during the 40s and 50s. These volumes, prepared and released by the committee itself, reveal the details of this fascinating moment in American History.
